Over than 5000 registered after one month working

PIURA CITY, Peru –
Almost one month after the 5th National Economic Census (V CENEC as in Spanish) started, Peru’s National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI as in Spanish) reported 6997 stores have been visited in Piura Department. From this total, 5182 have been fully registered, they are mainly in Piura Metropolitan Area.

INEI Piura department’s director Martin Herrera Boyer pointed out the total of visited stores has not been registered yet because their owners were absent: “During those almost four weeks, the team of enumerators got to almost 7000 stores, but there are… 1685 that couldn’t be registered up to this moment because… they were closed or there was a denial to ask the request,” he sustained.

V CENEC’s regional coordinator Elmer León Alvines also said that starting Monday, May 16th, formal and informal businesses of Sullana, Paita, Talara, Morropon, Ayabaca, and Huancabamba are visited. So, 41 districts are added to count: Since V CENEC started… on April18th, our  goal is to register 93,700 places across Piura Department,” he pointed out.
