According to Qali Warma Programme, only in reading comprehension, the progress is almost 30% during the last three years. In 2014, 54.3% of evaluated 2nd-grade students understood the texts they red. Now in 2017, from 73 evaluated 2nd-grade students, 60 (82.2%) understand what they read. Additionally, 51 students (69.9%) are capable to reason and to use strategies for solving Maths problems. Intelligent Breakfast

Adding an orchard improves  feeding and learning  of boys and girls in two schools of Piura.  Piura, Peru - Vegetables for breakfast, and school breakfast also. That don't excite around many boys and girls but that ingestion could balance the first meal of the day what is traditionally formed by carbohydrates and some protein. At 20136 School in Bernal ( Sechura ), 17 students have vegetables  as a complement to the breakfast provided by Qali Warma (Strong Child in English) programme, administered by the Peru's Ministry of Social Development and Inclusion (MIDIS as in Spanish). In Piura D epartment, the programme covers 281668 cboys and girls at 4067 public schools. The organic banana improves the management of a school

TAMBOGRANDE, Peru – As part of the interchange of experiences held by the Qali Warma (from Quechuan, Strong Child) National Programme for School Feeding, the School Feeding Committees (CAE as its acronyme in Spanish) from Sullana, La Arena, Cura Mori, and Tambogrande Districts knew the Organic Banana – A diversity of benefits for school’s feeding educational productive project, applied by the 15105 School in quebrada Parales Town. Parents have organized for growing organic banana  that joins to the local production addressed to exportation, which incomes are used for covering the needs of the school, especially the feeding. There are 200 elementary school students attended by the Ministry of Social Inclusion and Vulnerable Population through the Qali warma Programme, that provides them breakfast and lunch by delivering a basic food basket that is complemented with crops from their school’s orchard. It’s not exactly rice, so what is it?

PIURA REGION, Peru – More than 80 thousand students recipient of Qali Warma (from Quechuan, Strong Child) complementary feeding programme started to consume a type of fortified rice that promises to face the anemia, to improve the organism’s function, to reconstitute bones and tissues, and to strengthen the immunologic system. The food will be in breakfasts and lunches provided by the initiative. The fortified product is made from the rice flour what is added with eight vitamins, iron, and zinc. From the formed mass, simil grains are made. Qali Warma and its promotional organism, the Peru’s Ministry of Social Development and Inclusion, released no more medical and scientific information about the fortified rice. TAMBOGRANDE, Peru – Members of Lebanon Arab Government’s Social Affairs Ministry  got to quebrada Parales Town for meet the good practice on feeding service management brought by Peru’s Development and Social Inclusion Ministry (MIDIS for its acronyme in Spanish) throught Qali Warma National Programme of School Feeding, at the 15105 La Quebrada School. The so-called “successful experience” is developed  because of the coordinated work that the School Feeding Committee (CAE for its acronyme in Spanish), the community, and the local authorities are doing. The classroom expands to the orchard

CHALACO, Peru – Evelio Cobba Mendoza is the only teacher at 15356 School, in Las Mishcas Village, and helped by the educational community, he implemented an orchard with food which, as well as compliments breakfasts and lunchs brought by the  Qali Warma Programme, is inserted into other subjects like Communication, Maths, and Technology & environment. Parents fenced the space with bamboo cane and prepared the land while the school’s children made the grooves and cropped the vegetables. So, the students have learned, for example, there are direct-cropping plants and others those need to be transplanted. Teacher Luis Cevallos Jiménez thinks it’s about 74 acres. According to Soc’cha Alta elders, it was larger, still. Among chamelicos, guayacans, and hualtacos, it was detected anteaters, armadillos, deers , ocelots, peccaries, Barnett's  lanceheads, and blacktail cribos. Soc’cha Alta is a village of Canchaqué District , Huancabamba Province , extending on a slope going from 2756 to2887 feet altitude. It’s part of Bigoté Sub-Basin, a Piura River ’s tributary, and according to Mr Cevallos, it should be declared a protected area once it’s studied scientifically. CATACAOS, Peru - The Last Supper at 003 Kinder School is on scene. The moment which the Catholicism recognizes the trans-substantiation of the bread and the wine into the Body and the Blood of Jesus Christ is performed by 3-to-5-year-old children studying over there. There are seven dishes prepared around following an old Holy Week's local tradition - The Seven Meals. For Qali Warma, a Peruvian government food compplementary programme, the celebration has been an opportunity to introduce the consumption of iron-rich food, so fighting the anemia and the malnutrition. LA ARENA, Peru – Memberrs of the Economic and Social Planning Technical Secretary of Paraguay Republic arrived to Ricardo Palma School for learning the successful experience of feeding service management  brought by Midis Qali Warma to 871 high-school students. CANCHAQUÉ, Peru – Nicolás Rodríguez Julca dreams to be an agricultural engineer. He’s just 9 years old, studies in 5th grade Elementary at 14498 San Francisco School, and he’s the Environmental Chief. Adding the care of the place where he lives, one of his tasks is to promote healthy food habits among his classmates.   Currently, the school has stimulated the families to own orchards at their houses, so having more variety in food they consume.   Precisely, Nicolas’ job consists to visit these houses every week, to register the orchards status in a file: if the soil is already prepared, if it’s already planted, irrigated, removed the bad weed, or if it’s the harvest time. The 093 School's Cheff

LAS LOMAS, Peru – It is the time to make lunch for 30 students at the 093 School, and Tío Miguel (Uncle Miguel), as he is lovely named, gets ready to cook tasty spaghetti a-la-huancaína and crispy Pacific chub makerel ( Scomber japonicas peruanus ) croquettes as part of the food services offered by MIDS-Qali Warma. Miguel Ignacio Seminario Pasiche is 50 years old, and 37 years in the kitchen, as he proudly tells. “I learned the cooker job from my father, Segundo, when I was 13 years old, and as my parents had no money to bring me for studying, I bought kitchen booksand I learned to make different dishes so.” Since the beginning of 2019 class, Miguel was proposed by the educational community of El Viviano Centro Village for he to cook breakfast and lunch, and although he has no kids, he feels a lot of affection for the boys and the girls. “I do it for them,” he affirms.
