Following up the Optimus Prime’s track
All the Peruvian locations of transformers – The Rise Of Beasts.
The seventh movie of Transformers
franchise has been partially staged in Peru. The complete storyline is about
two antagonic bands of humanoid robots, coming from planet Cybertron,
capable to develop feelings and transforming in vehicles or devices.
It’s not the first time the
producers use this country to tell some episode
of the story. In 1984, when the cartoon series was launched, the ninth
episode was dedicated to Peru.
Decepticons, the bad band, discover
an Inca temple that is actually an energetic conduit to the Earth’s core, which
control they look for taking by building
a plug made of stolen steel from a
nearby farmer
community.
If the wardrobe and the faces of the characters left no doubt
it was about Peru, the scripts left clear it was about the Andes of this
country. About the Inca temple, it’s not specified which one is about, it’s
ignored if among so many Inca tales, it was any related to the plot developed
in that episode.
Regarding the movie filmed in
2019, entitled The Rise Of Beasts, what is currently known is about a
prequel including maximals and predacons, robots transforming in
animals, which function had been caring the corpses of autobots and decepticons
while they slept a 4-million-year dream after the ship they escaped out of
their planet crashed circumstantially in the earth.
The film also uses locations
in the U.s. and Canada, but coming up next, we’re going to review some of the
Peruvian places watched on the footage, without any order in particular, and
what are actual touristic
destinations, as well.
Machu Pichu, Cusco (7973
feet altitude): Inca
citadel located 42 miles straight line from Cusco Downtown. It’s belief it was built along 15th
century, it continues under archaeological
research. The chronicles and files reveal its existence was already known
until Hiram Bingham exposed it to the world in 1911 in association with National
Geographic Society. Currently, it’s the main touristic attraction and one
of the commercial symbols of Peru. Its
holiday is July 7th, remembering the day it was chosen as one of the
7 wonders of modern world, in 2007. The citadel has been used as a location in
other American and Brazilian features including a video-clip by Gloria Estefan
with a song written by Peru’s Gian Marco Zignago.
Sacsayhuaman, Cusco (12,139
feet altitude): Located
1.8 miles from Cusco Main Square, it’s an Inca fortress,
possibly begun in 1350 AD, which full building could take about 90 years.
Because of its configuration, archeologists think its use was basically
military. Due to its easy accessibility,
it’s one of the most visited touristic destinations what can reach by walking from Cusco
Downtown. Every June 24th, it’s used like stage for performing Inti
Raymi festivity, that actually started the Inca calendar matching to
Southern Summer Solstice, the fewest daylight.
Moray, Cusco (11,108 feet
altitude): Located 30 miles away from
Cusco City, its about a set of rounded platforms at different altitudes,
supposedly used by the Incas for testing the influence of levels in growing of
certain crops and irrigation systems. Presummibly, it was abandoned in 1533
after the arrival of Spanish conquerors, forgotten beneath a bush until it was
discovered during an overflight in 1932.
Malaga Pass, Cusco (14,160
feet altitude): Located
65 miles from Cusco Downtown on the road to Quillabamba, it’s a place used for birdwatching,
mountain
biking, and trekking
due to its location between veronica Mount and other mountains.
Nazca, Íca (1706 feet
altitude): Located 277 miles to the south of Lima City,
this place is famous for the geoglyphs or lines drawn on the soil
representing animals, that, possibly, could be an enormous astronomic calendar
designed by the ancient Nazca people between 600 and 200 BC. When we talk about
enormous, we want to mean the best way to look at every drawing is by a flight
on airplane for covering 200 sq mi of natural canvas.
Tarapoto, san Martin (512
feet altitude): Located
594 miles to the north of Lima, Upper
Peruvian Jungle, is surrounded by forests, cascades (as Aguashiyaco), and
lagoons (as Sauce), so the destination is ideal for birdwatching and different adventure
sports.
